Next week is the "official" start of the busiest shopping season of the year, and we expect this one to be exceptional. Be prepared with lists in hand ahead of time, so your items get delivered promptly and don't sell out!
In our last gift guide, we discussed shopping for rugs by color and patterns that appeal to the varying tastes of a few of our friends and family.
For this holiday gift guide, let's approach our holiday shopping endeavors from a different angle and put some thought into purchasing area rugs for the top five rooms that see the most foot traffic.
The Living Room
Winter means yummy hot chocolate, coats, sweaters, icy cold weather, and snow covering over 90% of the country. At night, we find lots of warmth gathering in the living room with our families to snuggle in blankets and watch movies by the fire.
Another way to add warmth to a living room is by adding a decorative area rug to your space. Carpets are like mini-heaters that harness then distribute heat to reduce that nose nipping chill in a room. You can also feel free to walk barefoot without freezing your toes off!
The Dining Room
Hazel Chevron Teal Washable Rug
The dining room will see a lot of activity this holiday season, especially after missing a year of big dinner parties and impromptu lunches. Polish the grand crockery hutch, dress the table in linens, and please don't forget the floors!
All it takes is one spill with hot greasy gravy not immediately sopped up to damage a wood floor. Remember, My Magic Carpet rugs are easily spot treatable and washable. We're pretty sure your turkey day host wouldn't mind receiving one as a present. Hint, hint.
Entryway
Phoenix Kilim Garnet Washable Rug
Winter means icky, melty muddy rain, snow, ice, and salt get tracked into the house by small and large children who forget to wipe their feet and animals who don't know how to wipe their paws.
The combination of liquids and salts can easily damage floors and set up an environment suitable for growing mold. Save the floors! Purchasing a lovely patterned hallway runner will act as a runway for soaking up wet shoes, boots, and fur.
Kitchen
People love to gravitate to places with food. Whether we're hungry or not, when someone brings food out, we flock. That's why the kitchen is never empty for long and is one of the most challenging places to keep clean.
Give it maybe five minutes after mopping the kitchen floor, and a crumb or spill will appear. A nonslip-washable rug is the kitchen and kitchen owner's best friend. Spot cleaning and vacuuming an area rug is much easier than getting the flooring replaced every three or so years.
Mudroom
Medina Moroccan Diamond Grey Washable Rug
Mudrooms may or may not be separate rooms. From our experience, most homes have mudroom/laundry room combos that lead to a back or side yard. Want to know who else spends time in this room for their sunny naps? Our best furry friends.
Our objective for placing a washable rug in this room is to add warmth for helping the pets dry their paws and coats off and keep it clean. We don't invite guests over to see the mudroom or look at our piles of dirty laundry usually.
There are just a few ways giving a My Magic Carpet as a holiday present can improve a loved one's home decor as an accent and functional piece that they can use year after year.
