As a company known for its commitment to quality and community engagement, My Magic Carpet  sought to contribute to the well-being of Alexandria House residents. My Magic Carpet generously donated washable rugs, adding a touch of luxury to the living spaces and allowing residents to enjoy a clean and cozy environment.

In addition to providing comfort for the homes, the My Magic Carpet team extended their generosity to the youngest residents of Alexandria House by donating toys. These colorful and engaging toys not only bring joy to the children but also contribute to their cognitive and emotional development.

A Path to Financial Stability

The average stay at Alexandria House is up to two years, during which residents receive comprehensive support to help them regain financial independence. The facility provides a teen center and childcare services for parents securing employment, offering a holistic approach to rebuilding lives.

The Yellow House

Among the facilities within Alexandria House, the Yellow House stands out. With staff offices and rooms dedicated to families experiencing money issues, this space represents a haven where individuals can find support and stability during difficult times. 

The Yellow & Green House

The Yellow and Green House accommodates six families and is crucial in fostering a sense of community. The generous support of a five-year donor who cooks for families on holidays exemplifies the spirit of collective care that defines Alexandria House. The resilience of this house is evident in the fact that it rose from the ashes after a fire, thanks to the unwavering support of loyal donors.

New Housing

With a commitment to expanding its impact, Alexandria House has acquired a new building that includes 37 affordable housing units. This addition represents a significant step forward in addressing the ongoing housing crisis in the greater Los Angeles metro area, ensuring more individuals and families have access to safe and stable living conditions to help them succeed in their future. 

Healthcare and Support Services

Understanding that physical and mental well-being are integral to stability, Alexandria House assists residents in accessing medical care and mental health services. The devoted staff, like our tour guide, Italia Saravia, support and empower residents on their journey to independence.

Alexandria House's impact extends beyond its immediate residents. The organization receives over 1000 calls a month for residency placement, showcasing the immense need for such services in the community. While Alexandria House cannot accommodate all caller's requests for housing, the staff serves as a source of support, offering a listening ear and guidance.

Education and After-School Programs

Recognizing the importance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty, Alexandria House offers after-school programs, homework assistance, and tutoring. The organization becomes a second home for children, providing them with the resources they need to succeed academically.

This 13-week initiative provides training, counseling, and access to resources for starting a small business.

The program covers various essential topics, including obtaining a business license, developing a business plan, understanding banking basics, establishing credit, building wealth, marketing strategies, and quality control. The one-on-one bookkeeping, accounting, and design mentorship ensures that participants receive comprehensive guidance in their entrepreneurial endeavors.
